Northwestern Medicine faculty continues to see an increase in referrals of liver disease patients. Due to the highly complex nature of liver disease, it is essential to stay informed and up-to-date on the most recent developments in order to maximize patient outcomes

1. Apply an evidence-based approach to the management of liver disease patients in both a hospital and an office setting.
2. Identify treatment challenges in liver disease patients with metabolic syndrome.
3. Define current standard treatments for patients with hepatitis B, C, NASH, alcoholic liver disease, portal hypertension and hepatocellular carcinoma.
4. Discuss the current state of liver transplantation and the management of liver transplant patients.
