Overview
This educational program is designed for pulmonologists and other healthcare providers involved in the care of patients with pulmonary disease. There will be didactic lectures, a hands-on session and case discussions.

Objectives
  1. Explain criteria and outcomes of bronchoscopic lung volume reduction.
  2. Describe the clinical, radiographic and pathologic differences in patients with interstitial lung disease.
  3. Describe the diagnosis and steroid-sparing treatment modalities for patients with sarcoidosis.
  4. Explain the evidence for and against the use of esophageal balloon manometry in the intensive care unit.
  5. Compare therapies in the treatment of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.
  6. List ventilator strategies utilized in the care of critically ill patients.
  7. Describe new ATS/IDSA CAP guidelines.
  8. List important radiographic findings in the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases.
  9. Explain the role of lung transplantation in the treatment of interstitial lung disease.

Registration
The fee is $85 for physicians and $45 for trainees, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Breakfast, refreshments and lunch are provided. Space is limited. No refunds after October 31.

Accreditation

The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Sixth Annual Advances in Pulmonary and Critical Care

6.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program will be awarded with a score of 70% or higher.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. You will have a maximum of 3 attempts to complete the test successfully.
