Overview
This biennial program aims to provide the latest advances in the field with respect to diagnosis, treatment and management of neurodegenerative diseases. While the emphasis will be on Parkinson?s disease, the most common neurodegenerative movement disorder, other diseases will be discussed, including ataxia's, Huntington disease and dementias.

Objectives
  1. Discuss and apply diagnostic criteria for Parkinson’s disease.
  2. Identify and appropriately recommend available disease modifying treatment in PD.
  3. Identify and appropriately recommend treatment options for early and advanced PD.
  4. Explain how to diagnosis and manage ataxia.
  5. Review new surgical options for management of movement disorders.
  6. Demonstrate when to consult specialists for patients with Huntington’s disease.
  7. Consult allied healthcare professionals appropriately in the management of patients with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.
  8. Summarize current state-of-the-field in the diagnosis and experimental therapeutics of dementias in the context of movement disorders.

Registration

The fee is $100 for attending physicians and $75 for nurses, trainees, PT’s, OT’s, SLP’s and other healthcare professionals. Breakfast, refreshments and lunch are provided.

Space is limited. No refunds will be granted after November 1.


Accreditation

The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation Statement
