Overview
This annual CME liver symposium is designed to address identified practice gaps by providing clinicians with an evidence-based update on the management of chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis and its complications. The activity incorporates expert-led presentations and case-based discussions focused on evolving diagnostic approaches, multidisciplinary care, and current treatment strategies. Educational content is informed by peer-reviewed literature, clinical practice patterns, and input from hepatology experts, highlighting key areas such as transplant management, portal hypertension, liver cancer surveillance, and liver-related emergencies. The program aims to strengthen clinician knowledge, enhance competence in applying best practices, and improve performance in real-world care settings. Ultimately, this activity seeks to support improved patient outcomes through more effective, up-to-date management of complex liver disease.

Objectives
  1. Apply current evidence-based strategies to improve the management of patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC).
  2. Describe contemporary surgical approaches and multidisciplinary considerations in liver transplantation.
  3. Evaluate hemostasis disorders in cirrhosis and implement appropriate management of thrombosis.
  4. Identify and manage common liver-related emergencies using current clinical guidelines.
  5. Integrate advanced treatment approaches in the management of autoimmune hepatitis.
  6. Assess challenges and interventional radiology options for managing gallbladder disease in patients with cirrhosis.
  7. Implement best practices for liver cancer surveillance and apply current treatment strategies.
  8. Apply updated approaches to the diagnosis and management of portal hypertension.
