Overview
A full-day event in Oak Brook covering common adolescent related health concerns.

Objectives
  1. Identify abnormal menstrual pattern in teens
  2. Develop an evaluation for common causes of abnormal menses
  3. Utilize a patient-centered approach to contraceptive counseling and management in adolescents
  4. Recognize and manage common challenges related to contraceptive use
  5. Explain different presentations and differential diagnoses of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  6. Explore options for treatment of ARFID in multidisciplinary settings
  7. Define PrEP and its mehanisms for oral and long-acting injectable
  8. Identify adolescent populations at increased risk for HIV acquisition and describe current PrEP regimens appropriate for adolescents
  9. Outline key steps for PrEP initiation, monitoring, and discontinuation
  10. Explain key aspects of emotional, social, and cognitive development that influence how teens use and respond to social media and social media trends among adolescents
  11. Analyze the psychological and social impacts of social media and recognize warning signs and risk behaviors with social media exposure and strategies for healthy use.
  12. Articulate the trends in use of nicotine and cannabis products
  13. Identify steps to address nicotine and cannabis use in their patients
  14. Identify signs and symptoms of disordered eating in adolescents with "normal" or elevated BMI's
  15. Develop a script for discussing weight management with adolescents that simultaneously promotes metabolic health and minimizes weight bias
  16. Utilize appropriate methods to screen for adolescent substance use
  17. Engage in brief interventions with adolescents who use substances
  18. Discuss the importance and benefits of gender affirming care for young people
  19. Describe the core components of gender affirming care
