Overview
Focused on food allergy prevention, microbiome, management, and treatment, as well as related conditions (eczema, EoE, FPIES, asthma). For pediatric care providers

Objectives
  1. Identify and apply at least three evidence-based strategies for early food allergy prevention, including methods for early allergen introduction, in clinical or educational settings.
  2. Explain the role of the microbiome in the development and management of food allergies and describe at least two ways it can be influenced to support food allergy prevention or treatment.
  3. Demonstrate the application of at least two updated guidelines in the management of complex food allergy cases, adjusting treatment plans based on patient-specific needs and conditions.
  4. Develop and implement a treatment plan that integrates management strategies for co-occurring conditions such as eczema, EoE, FPIES, and asthma, tailored to the needs of patients with complex food allergy profiles.
  5. Create and present personalized, patient-centered care plans that incorporate strategies for managing both allergies and related conditions, ensuring plans are tailored to individual patient needs and preferences.
  6. Assess and prioritize at least three common barriers to food allergy care in underserved populations, and develop strategies to address these barriers in clinical or community settings.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to deliver culturally sensitive, equitable care by adapting communication and treatment approaches to meet the unique needs of at least two diverse patient groups.
  8. Identify signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and other severe allergic reactions, and apply appropriate management protocols, including emergency intervention and follow-up care.
  9. Utilize appropriate diagnostic tools and criteria to increase accuracy in identifying food allergies and related conditions, demonstrating correct interpretation and application in at least three case scenarios.
  10. Facilitate at least two mock shared decision-making discussions with patients and families regarding allergy treatment options, ensuring their preferences and values are incorporated into the treatment plan.
  11. Implement at least two of the latest treatment options, including immunotherapy, for food allergies, evaluating their effectiveness and patient response in a clinical setting.
  12. Assess and address food allergy-related quality of life concerns by developing and implementing a support plan that includes at least two resources or strategies for patients and their families.
  13. Provide education for families on effective at-home allergy management and emergency protocols by delivering a workshop or informational session that covers at least five key strategies and resources.
  14. Regularly review and adjust treatment plans for at least three mock patients based on their evolving needs and the latest emerging evidence, documenting changes and outcomes in their care.
  15. Identify signs of mental health concerns related to food allergies in patients and their families, and provide appropriate referrals or support resources in at least two instances.
  16. Integrate findings from at least three recent research studies on the connection between food allergies and asthma management into clinical practice, adjusting treatment plans accordingly to improve patient outcomes.
  17. Conduct a thorough assessment to identify at least three gaps in food allergy management within your practice and implement targeted improvements, evaluating their impact on patient care and outcomes.
  18. Provide recommendations and connections to participate in at least one professional development activity, such as workshops or conferences, focused on emerging food allergy treatments and guidelines, and apply newly acquired knowledge to enhance practice.
  19. Participate in at least two interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for food-allergic patients, ensuring that input from various specialties is integrated into the treatment strategy.
