Overview
This one-day meeting designed by pediatric specilists for the primary care audience is a full-day virtual program that will cover a variety of conditions, disorders and concerns that the primary care provider encounters in their daily practices. This program will include hot topics like behavioral issues in children, eating disorders, suicide, bleeding, gun violence and gender dysphoria. THis meeting will be live streamed and will not be recorded.

Objectives
  1. Describe the effects of Toxic Stress, ACE’s and Social Influencers of Health on children’s long-term health and wellbeing.
  2. Recognize how positive childhood experiences and early relational health (ERH) can help mitigate these negative outcomes and provide examples of ways to promote ERH in pediatrics
  3. Examine medical and psychological presentations of eating disorders and explore common co-occurring diagnoses
  4. Identify practical strategies for working with those with eating disorders
  5. Discuss the basics of collaborative safety planning and identify effective treatment for suicidality
  6. Demonstrate confidence to have conversations about restricting access to lethal means with parents
  7. Describe the management and follow-up of iron deficiency anemia
  8. Explain which child deserves a bleeding disorder work-up
  9. Describe the epidemiology of youth firearm injury in the United States and identify strategies to incorporate youth firearm injury prevention into your practice
  10. Apply the public health approach to youth firearm injury prevention
  11. Describe the developmental processes of gender identity development among transgender and gender diverse youth
  12. Explain current research findings on autism, depression, anxiety, ADHD and gender diversity
  13. Describe the importance of family acceptance in shaping mental health outcomes for youth
  14. Assess pubertal status of all youth and provide guidance and appropriate referral for pubertal suppression
  15. Manage oral and injectable hormonal medications for menstrual suppression
  16. Describe up-to-date recommendations for newborn jaundice including phototherapy and discharge follow-up parameters
  17. Demonstrate use of the Kaiser calculator for Chorioamnionitis to establish risk factors for sepsis in newly delivered infants
  18. Describe best practices for bronchiolitis including the appropriate use of monitoring, fluids, and adjunctive medical therapy

*Registration is due approximately 10 days prior to each course and is non-refundable unless cancellation is received seven days prior to the event. If registering for the discount package will all five events (Pediatric Pearls Fall, ENT, Winter, Spring, and Emergency Medicine), registration is due October 23, 2023.


**NEW REFUND POLICY FOR 2023**

  There is a new, strict no-refund policy unless request is received seven days prior to the event. Consideration will be given to emergency situations and a credit for a future event will be offered.
