Overview
These SIX one-hour lectures designed for the primary care physician will address common complaints, issues in the day-to-day practice. The event will be held live at Northwestern Lake Forest and will be live streamed to those off campus and recorded for later viewing.


Objectives
  1. (Syncope,Dizziness) Define Orthostatic Intolerance/POTS
  2. (Syncope, Dizziness) Differentiate symptoms of dizziness, including syncope
  3. (Syncope, Dizziness) Define how to assess and diagnose dizziness
  4. (Syncope, Dizziness) Apply non-pharmacological management of OI to primary care patients
  5. (Hernias) Describe differences in management between umbilical and inguinal hernias and recognize when to expedite surgical referral
  6. (Hernias) Discuss new techniques such as minimally invasive laparoscopic repair, as well as current state of controversies such as use of synthetic mesh
  7. (Implanted Devices) Review what types of wearable technology are out there for patients and providers
  8. (Implanted Devices) Assess appropriate indications and uses for wearable technology
  9. (Implanted Devices) Identify potential downsides and false positives when using wearable technology
  10. (Hormonal Solutions) Discuss different indications for hormonal contraception including acne, migraines, dysmenorrhea and PMDD
  11. (Hormonal Solutions) Review different hormonal methods (short-acting contraception and long-acting-reversible-contraception) and effectiveness of each method
  12. (STI Update) Review the updated 2021 CDC sexually transmitted infection treatment guidelines
  13. (STI Update) Discuss new approaches in STI prevention
  14. (Obesity) Define childhood obesity and discuss the treatment options
  15. (Obesity) Summarize the future of childhood obesity and its implications

THIS EVENT IS FREE!

Registration is due seven days prior to the event and is needed if you attend live or stream live. Each event will be recorded and available on our site seven days after the live event. The recorded sessions will offer CME credit and will be free of charge. The in-person event will provide free lunch, parking, conference materials and CME credit. The live-stream option will provide learning materials in advance and CME credit.
