Overview
The rapid integration of digital technology into the daily lives of our youth has significantly changed the landscape of youth health and well-being. Increased screen exposure, social media engagement, and digital entertainment have been associated with shifts in mental health concerns, decreased physical activity, altered dietary behaviors and sleep patterns. Healthcare professionals increasingly encounter youth whose physical and psychological health is influenced by technology use and sedentary lifestyles. This 3.5 hour interdisciplinary CME conference will provide healthcare professionals with evidence-based strategies to address the complex interplay between digital media exposure, nutrition, and physical activity in youth. Through evidence review and practical interventions, participants will gain tools to help patients and families establish healthy digital habits while promoting lifestyle behaviors that support optimal physical and mental health.

Objectives
  1. Recognize the impact of digital technology use on the physical, psychological, and social well-being of children and adolescents.
  2. Apply evidence-based guidelines for healthy technology use among youth.
  3. Analyze the relationship between digital media exposure, nutrition habits, and physical activity levels in pediatric populations.
  4. Apply practical counseling strategies to help youth and families establish balanced technology use and healthier lifestyle behaviors.
