Northwestern Medicine's IBD Masterclass

Inflammatory Bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic disorder of the intestinal tract that affects an estimated 1.4 million Americans. Over the past 10 years, the field of IBD has changed dramatically. Practice gaps exist because learners may require updates on the multiple therapeutic options in IBD. Our goals are to provide high-level educational programs to support the needs of our physicians particularly close to suburban NM sites.

1. Identify and discuss new advances in IBD treatment.
2. Review the current standard of care for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and discuss new recommendations for care.
3. Explain perioperative management from a nutrition and medication perspective.
4. Utilize appropriate therapy options for IBD patients.
