Overview
An educational seminar geared towards educating Pediatric Clinicians on best practices in integrating, teaching, assessing, and providing feedback to learners into their practices and hospital settings.

Objectives
  1. Identify the cultural, social, and economic factors that shape the key behavioral and motivational characteristics that define people from each generation.
  2. Highlight the challenges to teaching and learning related to these characteristic differences and discuss strategies to overcome them.
  3. Implement teaching strategies to empower all trainees and faculty to take better care of patients/improve quality of care
  4. List at least 3 types of workplace-based assessment (WBA)
  5. Discuss the role of WBA within a system assessment
  6. Describe factors within one's environment that facilitate or hinder direct observation of learners
  7. Compare and contrast strategies to reduce the impact of bias on WBA, both individually and within systems of assesment
  8. Define the difficulties in providing effective feedback
  9. Outline what can make feedback more effective
  10. Apply the concept of learning culture
  11. Describe efficient ways for working with trainees in a busy practice
  12. Assess the skill-set and education needs of the trainees
  13. Communicate effective feed-back to trainees in the clinical setting
  14. Describe 6 strategies educators and learners can use to facilitate long-term learning
  15. Generate ideas about how to apply these strategies in their medical education roles
