Overview
This series will consist of four full-day programs and one half-day program. Offering a variety of topics and designed for the primary care provider, this series offers a couple of different formats, either in person or virtually. These programs are created by experts in specialty care who will lecture on many hot topics encountered by the primary care team making education and ease of access a priority. These programs will vary in CME hours (4.25 - 6.50)

Objectives
  1. Review newer “devices” on the market for infant sleep.
  2. Review physical therapy recommendations for infant development and the AAP safe sleep guidelines.
  3. Discuss the steps for building a trauma-informed framework in healthcare setting and identify roles for providers and leaders to support implementation of the frameworks.
  4. Explain how tongue ties are diagnosed.
  5. Describe potential benefits and risks for tongue tie release.
  6. Review the physiology of human breast milk production and how this relates to initiating and maintaining milk supply.
  7. Assess and address the eight most common breastfeeding challenges encountered in outpatient pediatric practice after hospital discharge and discover lactation resources.
  8. Review the 2022 Clinical Practice Guideline Revision: Management of Hyperbilirubinemia and three key changes to management of hyperbilirubinemia.
  9. Discuss the impact of current sociopolitical events on the health of forcibly displaced young people.
  10. Recognize common traumatic experiences for children across the 3 stages of migration and identify three ways to promote physical and psychological safety.
  11. Review current epidemiology of vaccine preventable illnesses in children.
  12. Discuss mechanisms of action of newly approved vaccines for children and current recommendations for administration of newly approved vaccines in children.
  13. Appreciate the lack of a role for acid blocking therapy in fussy infants and discuss the role of speechlanguage pathologist and occupational therapist in evaluating infants with GERD-like symptoms.
  14. Identify and refer infants with red flags associated with head shape abnormalities.
  15. Demonstrate techniques they can teach parents to do to prevent head shape abnormalities and differentiate between plagiocephaly and brachycephaly.
  16. Discuss key aspects of evaluation for and treatment of congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection.
  17. Review the changing epidemiology of congenital syphilis and important management considerations.
  18. Review best practices for developmental-behavioral screening and surveillance and discuss how prematurity can affect developmental milestones.
  19. Discuss the 2022 CDC/AAP update to developmental milestones and surveillance program.
  20. Discuss indications for supplemental feeding in the jaundiced infant and factors causing newborns to be at higher risk of jaundice.
