Overview
This symposium provides an update for practicing ophthalmologists from the Midwest, highlighting recent advances and technology in the field of cataract surgery. The program seeks to educate participants on the topics of laser cataract surgery, complex cataract management, premium IOLs and new technologies to enhance outcomes of premium and toric IOLs.

Objectives
  1. Compare and contrast premium IOLs, including light adjustable, EDOF, diffractive, and toric, and expand on the dos and don’ts related to refractive cataract surgery.
  2. Appraise various technologies available for imaging, biometry, capsulorhexis, and cataract removal, and identify which patients benefit most from its use.
  3. Discuss options for secondary IOL and surgical challenges associated with complex cataracts, and the surgical nuances to manage them.

The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
