Overview
This activity will advance the knowledge of providers caring for pediatric patients in acute care situations. Presenters will speak on the topics of evidence -based clinical practice guidelines for antibiotic use in children, the American Academy of Pediatrics' new recommendations for management of fever in infants <60 days of age, trauma Injury assessment in children, common and uncommon rashes, and updates and changes in practice in pneumonia in children.

Objectives
  1. Implement evidence -based clinical practice guidelines for antibiotic use in children treated for urinary tract infections and skin and soft tissue infections.
  2. Discuss the evidence behind the American Academy of Pediatrics' new recommendations for management of infants under 60 days of age who present with fever.
  3. Demonstrate steps in the assessment and management of pediatric trauma.
  4. Differentiate benign, self-limiting rashes, from those that are more concerning or life-threatening.
  5. Identify the clinical characteristics, explain the etiology, interpret diagnostic testing, and plan the management of children with both complicated and uncomplicated pneumonia
