Chicago Fetal Cardiology Workshop 2021

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital Chicago’s Fetal Cardiac Workshop: Fetal Echocardiography in Congenital Heart Disease, is a single day conference that will review fetal echocardiographic assessment of congenital heart disease focusing on prenatal detection of cardiac structural abnormalities, cardiac dysfunction and fetal arrhythmia. The topics were designed to increase the participant’s knowledge base through didactic lectures and reinforcement through practical approach with interesting case presentations. The talks will be led by Lurie Children's pediatric cardiologists with expertise in diagnosis and management of congenital heart disease in the fetus. Our invited keynote speaker from  Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will add expertise to our conference.

Target Audience
This course is designed for obstetric, maternal fetal medicine and cardiac sonographers, fellows in training, obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, pediatric cardiologists and sonography students embarking on a career in fetal cardiac sonography.  Participants should have a basic understanding of fetal imaging. 

1. Discuss existing guidelines and indications for fetal echocardiography
2. Review normal fetal cardiac physiology and perinatal transition
3. Assess normal fetal cardiac anatomy, function and rhythm by echocardiography
4. Identify fetal echocardiographic features in congenital heart defects, fetal arrhythmia and cardiac dysfunction
5. Apply learned techniques to optimize fetal echocardiographic images to accurately assess cardiac abnormalities

Cancellations must be received in writing by August 27, 2021 and will be subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be granted after that date.
