Overview
Dizziness, headache, facial pain, hearing loss, neck mass, nasal obstruction, and Bell's Palsy are among the most common complaints seen in the primary care clinical setting. These complaints are also fundamental to the specialties of otolaryngology and neurology. The purpose of this symposium is to impart an algorithmic approach to understanding the differential diagnosis of some of the common and uncommon pathologies that may be found in these patients. The diagnostic imperative in each category will be underscored by selected case presentation and panel discussion.

Objectives
  1. Examine some of the common and less common causes of dizziness in their day-to-day practice.
  2. Examine the origins of neck masses and nasal obstruction.
  3. Evaluate some of the lesions found by otolaryngological and imaging analysis that cause headache with a particular emphasis on how to distinguish these entities from the more common causes such as tension and sinus headache.
  4. Compare the newest technologies for implantable auditory devices.
  5. Assess the protocol for surgical treatment options for Bell’s palsy, and evaluate the role and benefits of electrophysiological testing in facial nerve paralysis.
