Overview
The field of interventional cardiology continues to evolve at a rapid pace. A variety of tools and techniques are utilized such as percutaneous transcatheter devices, catheterization and revascularization for the treatment and diagnosis of structural heart defects and vessel occlusions. A learner practice gap exists because the rapidly developing advances in interventional cardiology result in gaps in knowledge and skill of providers. Learners lack strategies for appropriate patient selection and timing of the treatments necessary to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Objectives
  1. List transcatheter options to address heart valve pathology including aortic , mitral, tricuspid and pulmonic stenosis and regurgitation.
  2. Describe the latest interventional techniques and therapies for structural heart disease and congenital heart disease.
  3. Cite the most contemporary approaches in the endovascular treatment of peripheral artery disease.
  4. Review the latest interventional therapies for pulmonary embolism and pulmonary hypertension.
  5. Describe available and emerging technologies to prevent stroke including percutaneous left atrial appendage and patent foramen ovale occlusion.
  6. Summarize the utility of new stent platforms.
  7. Describe various techniques to treat complex pathology such as left main, bifurcation disease and calcified lesions.
  8. List the latest recommendations for management of CTO’s to optimize procedural success while minimizing complications.
  9. Review the variety of percutaneous ventricular support devices and clinical scenarios best suited for each device.
  10. Summarize lessons learned from live and taped case presentations.

Registration
*There will be a $50.00 fee for any cancellation requests made after September 20, 2018.
