Overview
This half day live streamed meeting designed by pediatric specialists for the primary care audience will cover a variety of conditions, disorders and concerns that the primary care provider encounters in their daily practices. This program will include hot topics like pneumonia, dialysis, eczema and food allergies, acne, trending topics in infectious diseases and skin anomalies including birthmarks and moles and their management and the importance of the father child connection.

Objectives
  1. Describe eczema categorization and tools built to support the pediatric provider
  2. Describe leptomeningeal melanosis, and the impact on surgical management
  3. Discuss current guidelines and emerging evidence on food allergy prevention and early treatment
  4. Address common dilemmas in implementation of early introduction of peanut
  5. Discuss sociocultural shifts in families resulting in increased father engagement
  6. Describe the inter-relation between father wellbeing with the wellbeing of mothers and children and Identify ways to engage with fathers in a pediatric setting
  7. Discuss what is new in pediatric dialysis and other common pediatric renal issues including Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD)
  8. Explore ESKD Dialysis Modalities and ESKD Management
  9. Discuss the etiology, identify the clinical characteristics, interpret diagnostic testing, and plan the management of children with uncomplicated pneumonia
  10. Recognize the unique etiologies and plan the management of children at risk for severe or recurrent pneumonia, such as children with cystic fibrosis or immunocompromise
  11. Review current season RSV prevention recommendations and highlight CDC recommendations for testing infants with HCV perinatal exposure
  12. Discuss evidence for shorter antibiotic duration for common outpatient infections
  13. Discuss new vaccines and the rationale for updated vaccine recommendations
  14. Describe when it is necessary to operate on giant congenital nevi (GCN)
  15. Differentiate surgical indications for the management of pigmented vs. non-pigmented GCN
  16. Discuss the major factor that leads to recurrent nevi following surgical resection
  17. Explain treatment options for GCN of the head and neck, torso and extremities
  18. Identify which pediatric patients are at risk for infertility
  19. Discuss options for fertility preservation based on the child’s diagnosis and risk assessment for infertility
  20. Explain which fertility preservation strategies are standard of care and which are experimental

*Registration is due approximately 10 days prior to each course and is non-refundable unless cancellation is received seven days prior to the event. If registering for the discount package will all five events (Pediatric Pearls Fall, ENT, Winter, Spring, and Emergency Medicine), registration is due October 23, 2023.

  There is a new, strict no-refund policy unless request is received seven days prior to the event. Consideration will be given to emergency situations and a credit for a future event will be offered.
