FAQs for Learners (Participants)

Why do physicians need CME credit?

CME supports lifelong learning and helps clinicians maintain and improve knowledge, competence, and performance to deliver safe, effective patient care. Obtaining CME credit also ensures that they meet state licensing and board certification requirements. Illinois requires physicians to complete 150 hours of CME credit over a three-year re-licensure period. Please visit the Office of CME website’s Licensing Requirement tab for additional information.

How do I earn CME credit for an activity?

Attend the activity and complete all participation requirements (e.g., attendance verification and the post-activity evaluation). If the activity offers AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, eligible physicians may claim credit commensurate with participation.

How do I create an account on the Feinberg School of Medicine’s CME website?

Click on the "Sign In" tab then "Sign in with Email and Password" and "Create New Account". Contact the Office of CME with any questions at [email protected]

How do I obtain my transcript or certificate?

Log in to your profile on the CME website and navigate to “My CME” to view your transcript and print certificates. If you have trouble accessing your profile, email the Office of CME.

I don’t see my specialty board listed for MOC. Can I still receive MOC credit?

No. MOC/CC points can only be reported for boards selected by the activity leadership and supported through the CME reporting process. If your board is not listed, you may still claim CME participation credit.

How do I claim MOC for an activity?

Details coming soon.

How is my MOC reported to my board?

If MOC/CC is offered, you must provide your board Diplomate ID, date of birth, and consent during registration/profile completion. The Office of CME reports completion to participating boards via ACCME mechanisms. .

I forgot my password. Should I create a new account?

No. Do not create a duplicate account; it may prevent you from accessing credits tied to your original profile. Use “Forgot Password” to reset, or contact the Office of CME for help. .

I forgot to verify attendance or claim credit. Can I still get credit?

Contact the course coordinator as soon as possible. Depending on the activity and verification method, the coordinator may be able to provide alternate instructions or document attendance.
