8th Annual Conference in Pediatric Emergency Medicine

The 8th Annual Conference of Pediatric Emergency Medicine will continue to present highly relevant pediatric topics to provide PEM physicians and staff, pediatricians, primary care providers and ancillary staff with the most up to date information available for routinely addressed topics commonly encountered with the pediatric patient. This year's topics include Pediatric Oncology, Orthopedics, Cervical Spine Injuries and Respiratory Distress, Adolescent Medicine, and Pediatric Readiness.

1. Recognize the common and subtle clinical presentations of pediatric acute leukemia and differentiate them from more common self-limited illnesses seen in the emergency setting.
2. Recognize and manage common teen emergencies.
3. Evaluate and initiate appropriate management strategies for common pediatric fractures.
4. Describe the various modalities of respiratory support utilized in pediatric critical care settings and explain their appropriate clinical applications.
5. Identify common cervical spine injuries in pediatric patients and recognize their clinical implications.
6. Analyze regional and national disparities in pediatric readiness and evaluate their impact on emergency care outcomes for children.
