The Analytics Network is a learning community based at Lurie Children's. Its goal is to support, create, and drive a culture of critical exploration and discovery of cutting edge analytics that will enable Lurie Children's to provide the best care possible and carry out leading research in the future. The Analytics Network will: (1) Support the development of and drive the pathway towards precision medicine and other innovative analytic approaches to medical care (2) Develop staff and faculty skills that will enable and strengthen the hospital's efforts in this area, with a particular focus on advancing the capacity for computational thinking, critical assessment and application of methods and approaches (3) Promote multidisciplinary collaboration with relevant and interested Northwestern University faculty (4) Encourage/enable the hospital, researchers, staff, students and clinicians to embrace all forms of data (structured, unstructured) (5) Encourage/enable the hospital, researchers, staff, students and clinicians to embrace all methodological approaches in the emerging fields of data science and bioinformatics Initial activities will include: (1) A speaker series that will draw on the expertise of NU faculty, vendors and national leaders in advanced and innovative analytics for patient care (2) Support for staff and faculty user groups in all levels of analytics (SAS user group, Power BI user group, R user group, etc.) (3) A 'work in progress' series for faculty and staff to share challenges, identify common solutions, and offer guidance and critique to projects (4) Integrate the community of practice efforts with other training efforts of DAR focused on increasing analytic literacy across the hospital (5) Sponsor competitions and other educational activities (such as kaggles) to encourage faculty and staff to collaborate and stretch their skills (6) Advocate for and oversee the development and mentorship for faculty fellowships in advanced and innovative analytics

Thoracic Cancer Conference represents the longest in existence site-specific cancer conference at CDH. It has also been the longest tumor board (since 9/1/2012) to be videoconference among the three oncology campuses: CDH, Delnor, and Proton. This Tumor Board supports the multidisciplinary approach that is essential for the care of these complex patients; all thoracic malignancies are presented prospectively for input into diagnosis and treatment.

Malignancies of the breast are best managed by multidisciplinary teams. Treatment planning occurs among physicians who subspecialize in oncology. Physicians subspecializing in breast malignancies meet every Wednesday 0800-0900 and discuss prospective cases of all new, and some revisited, so that pathology and radiology can be presented by and prepared ahead of time by pathologists and radiologists, who have subspecialized themselves. Consensus on a plan for diagnosis and treatment is the goal for each case discussed. The moderator is Dr. N. Sigalove. The Breast Program Leadership group achieved certification status in 2014 as a Breast Center of Excellence from the National Centers of Breast Centers of Excellence, and this tumor board is a part of that achievement.
